Adam and Matt were having a bit of a scuffle. I asked what was going on. Adam replied, "I accidently hit Matt on purpose."

Overjoyed

Matt got a "big-boy bed" this weekend. As you can see from his expression, he is super excited. We had told him he would get one for his 4th birthday. That's coming up in June. He was thrilled when he actually got it two months early. I found it at a garage sale. The headboard, footboard and rails are solid oak. The mattress set was included, too. I bartered down the price and paid $100 for everything. I think that's a pretty good deal, considering a new mattress set and bedframe would cost between $300--?????

Saving Big

Today I did my bi-monthly shopping--groceries, cleaning supplies, toiletries, tank of gas, etc..... I spent $98 on everything. The awesome thing is that I saved $86 in coupons, clearance items and sale prices. I've always used coupons and always look for the best deal. Today I completely scored at Walgreens. The cashier rang everything up and it was $35. Then I handed over my coupons and the new total came to $2.93. Score!!!!

Happy Easter! We had a fun-filled weekend. Robert's parents and my dad came down for the holiday. Adam and Matthew enjoyed playing with them and having them at our home. We went to the church for an Easter Egg Hunt Saturday morning. Here's a picture of Matt reaching deep into the bush to get an egg.
Later on Saturday, we had an egg hunt in our backyard. The grandpas hid the eggs, all 72 of them. The boys had fun looking for them and checking out the goodies inside the eggs.

Neither Adam or Matt wanted their picture taken Easter morn, so this is more of a candid shot. Don't they look cute in their ties?

It's a Bird....It's a Plane....

It's SUPER BOYS!!! My dear friend and college roommate, Angela Ramey-Lunt came to visit me this weekend. She's very crafty, to put it lightly, and made the boys capes with their initials. They have had great fun with them.

Angela and I were roommates at Eastern Arizona College for 18 months.....and then she got married on me. :) However, we've always kept in contact and tend to see each other every couple of years. She's one of those friends that I'll always have and really can't imagine not sharing our lives with one another. Heck, if she's willing to come out to western Kansas, you know she's a great friend.

Adam's Awards

Adam's school had an awards assembly on Friday. Here's a few pictures from it. Adam received awards for good behavior and good grades/honor roll. The first two pictures are of him receiving his awards from his teacher, Ms. Ball, and the principal, Mrs. Green. The last photo is of all the students in his class that received awards. His class also gave me an award as a 'thank you' for helping out every Wednesday. Each of the students made me a card and they gave me a gift basket full of candy. It was very sweet and unexpected.

Planting a Seed

Matt is in the "nightmares" stage. He's been getting scared at night, thinking someone is in his room or that someone is going to get him during the night. There have been a couple of nights when he's spent a few hours in our bed and a couple of nights I've spent a few hours lying on his floor next to his bed. Tuesday night while I was putting him to bed, he again told me he was afraid that something scary was going to happen. I then suggested we say a prayer so Heavenly Father could comfort him. He agreed. After the prayer, he looked up at me and asked, "Does Heavenly Father listen to our prayers?" It was so cute. I replied "yes, He does". I then told him he would feel better. He slept the entire night without waking up. In the morning I asked him if Heavenly Father comforted him. He looked at me and realized that he had slept better and wasn't scared. He said, excitedly, "Heavenly Father listened. He heard our prayer". We prayed again Wednesday night before going to sleep. This time Matt wanted to say it. Too cute!!
