Post Script on the Kitty

Robert went back to the courthouse after work to look for the kitty, but he couldn't find it. So, no new kitty at our house.

Weekly Happenings

We've been busy in our garden, eating carrots, tomatoes, cantaloupe, watermelon and a few green beans.
Before--April 2008

After--August 2008
When we moved into our house, the yard, front and back, was a disaster. We've worked hard trying to fix it up.

We've been pretty busy this week. Adam has been really enjoying Kindergarten. He acts like he's been going for years--totally adjusted. He's had two trips to the office, though. On Monday he fell at recess and hit his head on some concrete. He had a huge knot on his forehead and was complaining about feeling nauseous so the nurse thought he may have a concussion. He's okay now. On Tuesday he got busy in class and forgot to go the bathroom. When I picked him up, I noticed he had a different shirt on . I thought perhaps he traded with one of his friends. Then I noticed different shorts, socks, and shoes. I put two and two together.
Matt starts Joy School (homeschool preschool) next week. Two friends and I will be doing it. We only have a small group, however, we've been busy getting everything ready for that.
And, crazy us, we've started renovating our kitchen this week, too. First, we'll be painting our cupboards and changing the hardware. Next, we'll change some appliances. Then do new countertops and backsplash. We've got a three month timeline. We're doing everything ourselves except for the countertops.
So, that's our week.
P.S. Robert just called. He's bringing home a kitten tonight. He's seen a little kitty outside the courthouse the past week or two and feels so bad because it looks like it's starving. What am I getting myself in to? Oh, well, the boys will love it!

Harsh Reality

Adam has been loving school---except for rest time (he thinks that is sooooo boring!). Yesterday, while walking him home, I asked him if he missed me while at school. He said "no". I asked, "do you think about me during school?". "No". Alrighty-then.

Adam started Kindergarten

Adam started school yesterday. He was very nervous Sunday evening but by Monday morning he had calmed down and did great. In fact, this morning he was so excited he ran all the way to school. Can you tell he likes Ben 10? We surprised him with a new backpack and lunchbag.
Matt wanted to be in a picture, too. Don't let his frown fool you. He thinks it's great that Adam is in school all day--'cause now he 'rules the roost'.

Snowbird Trip

The boys and I had a fun trip to Snowbird, Utah. Snowbird is a resort in the mountains near Salt Lake City. Since our family and relatives have been going there for about 30 years, you can imagine we have taken pictures at the same spots for each of those years--the view is the same, the styles and sizes change. So, this year I decided to take photos from different spots--or at least try to.

Bon Voyage!

The boys and I are leaving for Snowbird, Utah tomorrow morning. We'll be gone for a week. The boys are very excited about going on the airplane. Matt asks me all the time if he 'gets to go on the plane today'. Finally, this morning I was able to say we're going tomorrow. So, I'm signing off for the week.

Finally.....Photos

So, our camera has been 'on strike' for the past couple of weeks. However, an agreement on a contract has been settled and everthing is a go-go. We took some pictures before church yesterday.
Matt has three favorites things to say right now. When he wakes up, first thing, he asks, "is it mornin' time?" He is definitely an early bird. He also LOVES to ask us, all day long, "can you play a game with me?" And lastly, for anything he thinks is great, he says, "that's fantastic!".
Adam calls this his funny pose.

And this is his cool pose.
